THIENG LIENG COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM DESTINATION

Thieng Lieng Community-Based Tourism Destination is one of the most attractive spots in Can Gio. This is a unique community-based tourism site where visitors can experience the daily life of locals and discover the cultural beauties of the Southern Vietnamese coastal region.
Thieng Lieng is a small, pristine, and rustic island hamlet where transportation is primarily by waterway. It is home to Giong Chua Mountain—the city’s only rocky mountain—and vast, white salt fields. The residents of Thieng Lieng Hamlet make excellent use of these natural conditions, particularly their famous traditional salt production, to increase income, create jobs, and contribute to national tourism. Other livelihoods include small-scale trading, aquaculture, fishing, and catching crabs and snails.
The destinations within Thieng Lieng Hamlet are established based on cultural identity and natural conditions. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy unique local cuisine, from herbal ginseng tea, banh lot (rice flour jelly), and aloe vera juice to fresh seafood such as red-spotted goby and oysters—all prepared by the skillful and dedicated hands of the local people.
